Having started her career as a nurse in the USA, then taking the unlikely step of moving to Saudi Arabia to work with the Saudi Arabia National Guard, Deborah Edwards landed in the UK in 1994 and since then has been a pioneer in personal injury rehabilitation leading claims rehabilitation teams at Crawford and Company, Argent Rehabilitation and RTW Plus amongst her other roles. Deborah has been proactively involved in the formation of and leading industry development through bodies such as Case Management Society of the UK, Vocational Rehabilitation Association and now Institute of Registered Case Managers. Throughout her 26 years career in UK Deborah has supported, mentored, and inspired claims and case management professionals in her goal to make sure individuals experiencing challenging recovery and disability as a result of serious injury or long term illness achieve the support that allows them to return to a functional, productive and satisfying way of life, as close to their pre-injury/illness position as possible. Over the years Deborah has pioneered innovative initiatives, the most recent being RESTORE Chronic Pain Management – the UK’s first digital behaviour change programme for chronic pain, virtual physiotherapy, virtual psychology; she continues to lead on cost-effective rehabilitation provision for the NHS and private insurance arena. Deborah is a perfect epitome of dedicated service not only for RTW Plus which she leads as CEO, but also the rehabilitation and insurance industry through her advocacy and leadership of industry bodies.
